THE ROLE & THE TEAM

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Lead in Invest to Retire. As the Lead, you will be responsible for managing a team of asset accountants and overseeing the accounting operations related to fixed assets and other capital expenditures. Your primary objective will be to ensure accurate and timely recording of asset transactions, compliance with accounting policies and regulations, and efficient asset management.

WHAT WE'D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

  • Manage a team of asset accountants, providing guidance, support, and mentoring to ensure their professional development and productivity.
  • Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations related to fixed assets, including asset acquisition, capitalization, depreciation, and disposal as well as perform periodic reviews and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of asset transactions in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company policies in regards to IAS36, IFRS 16, IAS 38.57.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures specific to asset accounting, ensuring adherence and compliance across the organization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as procurement, operations, and finance, to gather information and validate asset data.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors during financial audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Stay updated with changes in accounting standards and regulations related to asset accounting and recommend necessary adjustments to accounting practices.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in asset accounting operations.
  • Provide regular reports and analysis to management, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement.

WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in asset accounting, preferably in a supervisory or team lead role.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices, specifically related to fixed assets and capital expenditures.
  • Familiarity with relevant accounting software and ERP systems. Experience with SAP as well as submodules, likes FI-AA., SAP PS and ReFX is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply accounting regulations and standards.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
